I fill my blog with useful information so your skin looks its absolute, healthy best. But today I’m going to suggest what NOT TO DO — which, as you’ll soon see, is crucial!!
SKINCARE MISTAKE #1
UNDERRATING THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS
Wipe it clean daily.
It lives in the bottom of your purse or on the seat of your car – and you pick it up to make a call after emptying the trash or putting gas in your car. Arghhh! Keep it clean!
* MAKEUP BRUSHES *
Clean them at least once a month
Don’t brush dust and debris onto your clean skin!
HERE’S HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES Put one drop of cleansing liquid into a glass and fill with hot water. Put in one brush at a time and swirl it around until you see the color of the water change. Follow this with clear water and swish the brush again – if the water remains clear, you know it’s clean. Blot dry and let air dry for a day.
* FACE TOWEL *
Change it daily.
Bacteria lives in moist places, so use a specific towel for your face, not the one you use for your hands or body. Buy one of those packs of a dozen washcloths and use a fresh one every day to dry your face.
* PILLOWCASE *
Change it every 3 or 4 days
You’ve cleansed and moisturized and now you’re going to lay that face down on a pillowcase that has last night’s oil and sweat and a bit of dandruff, too. Echhh! But wait, there’s more. See that layer of dust on your night table and dresser? It gets on your pillow, too. So even if you’re running out the door and don’t have time to make your bed, be sure to throw the sheet over your pillow to keep it dust-free all day.
SKINCARE MISTAKE #2
GOING TO BED WITH MAKEUP ON
Don’t do it.
Don’t go to bed with a dirty face. Makeup, sweat, oil, dust and dirt will lie there all night, clogging your sweat and oil glands. And sleeping with mascara on means it can get into your eyes as your sleep, which can cause conjunctivitis or even eyelid dermatitis. We get it – sometimes life is too, too hectic. Okay, then – get yourself some makeup wipes for that occasional night when you just can’t do the whole routine. But don’t go to bed with a dirty face.
SKINCARE MISTAKE #3
NEVER EXFOLIATING — OR EXFOLIATING TOO MUCH
Know the difference.
An exfoliating scrub will treat you to instant results because it sluffs off the dead skin and reveals your shiny new skin underneath. That’s the good news. But If you over-use an exfoliater, it can irritate or even harm the delicate skin tissue – especially around the eyes. Exfoliating is crucial BUT only do it once or twice a week.

NOW BE SURE TO USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS FOR THE RIGHT JOB
